My work aims to hold space for beauty and hope amidst the mess. Paint is my first love, but clay, fabric and metal are always welcome. I keep a camera handy for collecting visual moments throughout the day. The act of layering and assembling - with painted canvas or sculptural objects - offers a balance of intention, intuition and discovery that keeps me engaged with the work. Bio Kristen earned her BFA in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2002 and has had a quiet studio practice, a few small businesses, and many creative endeavors since, like parenting! She is lucky to be married to her best friend, raising their kids in the mountain west. She’s never not thinking about making something, but believes the most important art is living a day with attention, curiosity and care. *** https://www.kristenannchampion.com/selected-work daily 0.75 2022-06-01 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/60e49921db5953732c5069a7/e9678478-37c4-40dc-967d-3a774b667d13/whiteFORWEB.jpg Selected Work - Garden Stories It seems that in every season, of both a year and a life, there is more we can learn from a garden. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/60e49921db5953732c5069a7/c6446d31-9858-4f67-8cd5-6a3c275d6c1d/Envelope4.jpg Selected Work - Notes to Self, My Children & You This series is an ongoing visual correspondence.
